Your Responsibilities

Payment Obligations
You agree to pay the full kitten purchase price and any applicable transportation or delivery fees specified in your purchase agreement.

Safe Home & Supervision

• Provide appropriate supervision for your young kitten

• Keep your kitten safely indoors and prevent unsupervised outdoor access

• Maintain a secure, clean, and kitten-friendly environment

Proper Care & Well-Being

• Provide nutritious food and fresh, clean water

• Offer comfortable sleeping areas and appropriate shelter

• Maintain regular veterinary examinations and grooming

• Provide daily exercise, enrichment, play, and companionship

Ownership Liability
Once ownership has been transferred, you are responsible for your kitten’s safety, care, training, and behavior. Crown & Paws Maine Coon Cattery is not responsible for injuries, damages, or incidents that occur after ownership has been transferred, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

Communication & Follow-Up
You agree to remain reasonably available for follow-up communication regarding your kitten’s adjustment and general well-being.

Our Commitments

Health & Documentation

• Each kitten receives appropriate veterinary care before placement

• Available registration or pedigree documentation is provided when applicable

• Kittens receive early socialization and are raised with attention to temperament

• Health records, including applicable vaccination and deworming information, are provided to the new family

72-Hour Health Examination

Veterinary Examination Required
We strongly recommend that your kitten be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival. This initial examination helps establish a health baseline and allows any concerns to be identified promptly.

Pre-Existing Health Concerns
If a veterinarian identifies a significant health condition that clearly existed before the kitten was placed, the buyer should notify us promptly and provide appropriate written veterinary documentation. Any potential remedy, including treatment assistance, replacement, or refund, will be handled according to the terms of the written Health Guarantee.

Ownership & Rehoming

Right of First Contact
If you are ever unable to continue caring for your Maine Coon, please contact Crown & Paws Maine Coon Cattery before making other rehoming arrangements. We will work with you to determine a safe and appropriate solution for the cat.

Rehoming Responsibility
Our priority is the lifelong welfare of every kitten we place. If circumstances change, we encourage families to contact us so we can help explore responsible rehoming options whenever possible.

Ownership Transfers
Any transfer of ownership should be handled responsibly and in accordance with the terms of your purchase agreement and applicable laws.

Prohibited Situations

Your Maine Coon must never be:

• Sold or transferred to a pet store or commercial reseller

• Used for research or laboratory purposes

• Used for breeding contrary to the terms of the purchase agreement

• Placed in an environment involving fighting, abuse, neglect, or cruelty

Agreement

By purchasing or reserving a Maine Coon kitten, both parties acknowledge these terms and agree to prioritize the kitten’s health, safety, and lifelong well-being.
