Each kitten is raised with attentive care, proper nutrition, early socialization, and a strong focus on health and temperament. Our goal is to give every new family member the healthiest possible beginning and a smooth transition into their forever home.

Our Commitment to You

We are dedicated to maintaining responsible standards of breeding and kitten care. Before joining their new families, our Maine Coon kittens receive:

  • A veterinary examination by a licensed veterinarian
  • Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming
  • Microchipping when appropriate
  • Proper nutrition and daily care
  • Early socialization and gentle human interaction
  • A clean, comfortable, and nurturing environment

Families receive a health record outlining the kitten’s veterinary care, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and overall condition at the time of adoption.

Health Guarantee

Every Crown & Paws Maine Coon kitten is provided with a written health guarantee outlining the coverage and responsibilities associated with the kitten’s health.

1. Initial Health Guarantee — 72 Hours

Each kitten is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of adoption.

  • The new owner should arrange a veterinary examination with a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of the kitten’s arrival.
  • If a serious illness or congenital condition that existed before the kitten was delivered is identified, the breeder should be notified promptly with written documentation from the examining veterinarian.
  • Following appropriate veterinary review and confirmation, a replacement kitten of comparable value or another mutually agreed resolution may be offered, subject to the terms of the written health agreement.

2. Genetic Health Guarantee — Up to One Year

We provide coverage for qualifying life-threatening hereditary or congenital conditions for one year from the kitten’s date of birth, as outlined in the written health guarantee.

This may include serious hereditary conditions affecting major organs, such as the heart, liver, or kidneys, when the condition is medically confirmed to have a genetic origin.

Any qualifying claim should be supported by written documentation from licensed veterinarians and reviewed according to the terms of the health guarantee.

New Family Responsibilities

Providing a healthy life for your kitten is a shared responsibility. New families are expected to:

  • Schedule a veterinary examination within 72 hours of arrival.
  • Keep the kitten current on recommended vaccinations and parasite prevention.
  • Provide nutritious food, clean water, safe housing, and appropriate daily care.
  • Follow veterinary recommendations for ongoing wellness and preventive care.
  • Limit exposure to unvaccinated animals and potentially unsafe outdoor environments until the kitten has completed the recommended vaccination schedule.

Failure to follow appropriate veterinary and care recommendations may affect eligibility under the health guarantee, as specified in the written agreement.

Our Promise to Every Family

We take pride in the care we provide to every Maine Coon kitten entrusted to us. Our commitment is to give each kitten a strong foundation through attentive care, responsible breeding practices, proper veterinary attention, and early socialization.

We also want families to feel supported beyond the adoption process. We are happy to provide guidance on nutrition, grooming, settling into a new home, and general kitten care as your new companion grows.

What Is Not Covered

The health guarantee does not cover conditions resulting from accidental injury, neglect, improper care, unsafe travel arrangements outside of those coordinated with us, or failure to obtain the required veterinary examination within the specified timeframe. Temporary, minor stress-related conditions that resolve with routine care may not qualify for coverage. Routine veterinary expenses, future vaccinations, parasite prevention, and spay or neuter procedures remain the responsibility of the new owner unless specifically stated otherwise in the written health agreement.
